ReconvioBot — information for site owners
ReconvioBot is how Reconvio fetches your page and a few of its linked subpages (such as contact and terms) to check its security headers, DNS, speed, accessibility and SEO. It collects no content, publishes nothing, and requests each URL only a few times. If our anti-bot protection blocked us, here is how to allow us.
Our User-Agent
Every request identifies itself with this string. Use it to recognise us in your logs and firewall rules:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; ReconvioBot/1.0; +https://reconvio.com/bot)How to allow us
Every anti-bot wall has a way to let in a specific bot the owner wants. Add a rule that allows our User-Agent:
- Generic: allowlist requests whose User-Agent contains "ReconvioBot".
- Cloudflare: WAF → Custom rules → Skip action for the expression (http.user_agent contains "ReconvioBot"), or add an Allow rule.
- DataDome / Imperva / Sucuri and others: add our User-Agent (or our IP) to the allowlist in your bot-management settings.
Why we identify ourselves
We do not masquerade as a regular browser. We identify honestly precisely so you can allow us on purpose — and if a site still blocks us, the report says so plainly instead of inventing a fake score.
We only audit sites someone asks us to check. If you'd rather we didn't fetch your site, simply don't allow us — we respect that.
